Pelland Advertising Joins the
Wisconsin Association of Campground Owners,
Ohio Campground Owners Association, and Michigan ARVC

Pelland Advertising is pleased to announce that it has become a member of the Wisconsin Association of Campground Owners (WACO), Ohio Campground Owners Association (OCOA), and Michigan ARVC. As we seek to expand our presence in the Midwest, we are pleased to join these associations and look forward to becoming actively involved as business members. Wisconsin campgrounds might be interested to know that Pelland Advertising’s web servers have been located in Green Bay over the last 10 years, making us a “local” business in one respect. Our sales associate, Marilyn DeWard, is based in the Michigan, giving us a “local” connection in the region. She will be happy to personally meet the needs of new clients within the region. These new memberships come in addition to our earlier list of association memberships, including: National ARVC, the Northeast Campground Association, the Pennsylvania Campground Owners Association, the Maryland Association of Campgrounds, the New Hampshire Campground Owners Association, and the Massachusetts Association of Campground Owners.

Conference on Camping

Pelland Advertising will once again an active participant in 2010’s 46th Annual Northeast Conference on Camping, held in its entirety at the Sheraton Springfield Monarch Place Hotel, in Springfield, Massachusetts, from March 19-20, 2010. Peter Pelland Presents
Popular Website Marketing Courses

Peter Pelland will be presenting an encore (and always updated) series of Website Marketing classes, designed to meet the needs and interests of small businesses in the Hilltowns of Western Massachusetts. The three sessions are scheduled for April 7, 14, and 21, 2010 at the offices of the Hilltown Community Development Corporation in Chesterfield, Massachusetts. The last installment of these sessions was presented at the Hilltown CDC offices on January 12, 19, and 26, 2010. This course covers the basics (and many details) of how to take an overall “guerrilla” approach to your website’s marketing, with a minimal commitment of time and on a shoestring budget. Learn to measure and evaluate website performance, read and interpret Web traffic statistics, uncover your competitors’ website strategies, and much more. The tuition for the three sessions is $90.00, with tuition waivers available for low and moderate income attendees. New Google Analytics Session

Peter Pelland will be presenting a new one-night class covering the topic of Getting the Most from Google Analytics on Wednesday May 19, 2010. Designed to meet the needs and interests of small businesses in the Hilltowns of Western Massachusetts, the session will be held at the offices of the Hilltown Community Development Corporation in Chesterfield, Massachusetts. 2009 PCOA Conference & Trade Show

For our last trade event of the year, Pelland Advertising participated in the PCOA Conference & Trade Show, held at the Split Rock Resort, in Lake Harmony, Pennsylvania. Peter Pelland, Josh Pelland, and Nate Martin were available to meet with both existing clients and Pennsylvania campground owners who expressed an interested in our services, working from our trade show booth on Monday and Tuesday. Pelland Advertising was also a conference sponsor, and Peter Pelland lead a roundtable discussion on reciprocal linking strategies on Wednesday afternoon. This event was sponsored by the Pennsylvania Campground Owners Association.

National ARVC’s InSites 2009

Pelland Advertising was pleased to participate in National ARVC’s InSites Conference & Trade Show, a gathering which represents 3700 private campgrounds from throughout the United States. The event was held this year at the Rosen Center Hotel and the Orange County Convention Center, in Orlando, Florida. Peter Pelland and Marilyn DeWard thank the dozens of campground owners and related business executives who visited with us at trade show Booth # 600. We would also like to congratulate several of our clients who were honored at the conference's Awards Banquet, first and foremost Denny and Nancy McFarland, owners of Buttonwood Campground in Mexico, Pennsylvania. Buttonwood Campground was awarded "Best Website" out of 22 entries in a very tough competition. We would also like to congratulate Deborah Carter, Executive Director of the Maryland Association of Campgrounds (and owner of Buttonwood Beach, in Earleville, MD), for being honored as the "State Executive of the Year". Finally, 31 campgrounds were selected out of more than 1800 parks that are participating in the GuestReviews program for earning A ratings or higher in consumer reviews, essentially the Top 2% of campgrounds in the country. Honorees included Pine Acres Family Camping Resort (Oakham, MA), Buttonwood Campground (Mexico, PA), Gettysburg Campground (Gettysburg, PA), and Kozy Rest Kampground (Harrisville, PA). This event was sponsored by the National Association of RV Parks & Campgrounds.

2009 CONY Conference & Trade Show

Pelland Advertising was pleased to participate in the 2009 CONY Conference & Trade Show, held at the Kaatskill Mountain Club & Hunter Mountain Ski Area, in Hunter, New York. Peter Pelland, Josh Pelland, and Nate Martin worked the trade show on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning, meeting with the New York campground owners in attendance. In addition, Peter Pelland was a panelist in an Internet seminar on Friday morning. Click here for further information on one of the questions which which arose during this seminar. 2009 Twin States Conference

Pelland Advertising was pleased to participate in the 2009 Twin States Conference, held at the Stoweflake Mountain Resort & Spa, in Stowe, Vermont. Peter Pelland and Josh Pelland met with Vermont and New Hampshire campground owners at the event’s trade show on Friday night and Saturday morning. In addition, Peter Pelland presented a new seminar, “Define Your Park’s Important Role in the Regional Business Community … and Work it to Your Advantage” on Saturday morning. The seminar is now available online as a Pelland Virtual Seminar. This event was co-sponsored by the Vermont Campground Association and the New Hampshire Campground Owners Association.

Pelland Advertising Joins the
Massachusetts Association of Campground Owners

Pelland Advertising is pleased to announce that, after an absence of several years, it has once again joined the ranks of business members of the MACO - the Massachusetts Association of Campground Owners. We would like to do our part to support our many Massachusetts campground industry clients and hope to serve a broader base of the MACO membership who may not be familiar with our services. Our MACO membership is an addition to our existing list of association memberships, including: National ARVC, the Northeast Campground Association, the Pennsylvania Campground Owners Association, the Maryland Association of Campgrounds, and the New Hampshire Campground Owners Association.

at the Third Annual Hilltown Spring Festival

Pelland Advertising once again was the Business Expo sponsor of the Hilltown Spring Festival, held at the Cummington (Massachusetts) Fairgrounds on Saturday, May 30, 2009. This event was presented by the Hilltown Community Development Corporation. In addition to the Business Expo, the Spring Festival, which ran from 10:00AM to 6:00PM, featured artists and craftspeople, performers, good food, all day events … and spectacularly good weather. A crowd of attendees enjoyed the day, right through the final encore of the last performers on the two stages. If you live in the Hilltowns and missed it, be sure to look for next year’s event.

Our New Servers are Up and Running!

It has been two years since we last migrated our hosted websites to a new server … a state-of-the-art machine in its time. Well, two years is half an eternity in Internet time, and it was time for another upgrade. When we upgrade, we do it right. Our new primary server, which went online during the last week of February 2009 is a Dell Virtualized Dedicated Server featuring AMD Dual-CPU Quad-Core Opteron 2376 processors, a 500GB SATA primary disk drive, a 1.5TB SATA secondary disk drive (for nightly backups), and 4GB of DDR800 RAM … all running under Apache and Linux and managed within the Plesk application suite. We have concurrently introduced a secondary Virtualized Private Server for our self-service hosting accounts and test platform usage, insuring that we meet or exceed all of our clients’ needs in the months ahead.

Pelland Advertising was once again an active participant in 2009’s 45th Annual Northeast Conference on Camping, held in its entirety at the Sheraton Springfield Monarch Place Hotel, in Springfield, Massachusetts, from March 10-21, 2009. Peter Pelland was also a panelist in the conference’s Technology 101 workshop on Saturday, March 21st. For the first time, we occupied a double booth at the trade show, in an attempt to better showcase our latest capabilities and service offerings. We thank the many clients and “clients-to-be” who stopped by to visit with us!

Pelland Advertising was an active participant in  the 2008 InSites Convention and Expo, held from November 12 - 15, 2008, at the Nashville Convention Center, in Nashville, Tennessee. In addition to exhibiting at the Outdoor Hospitality Expo, Peter Pelland co-presented a CPO-certified seminar, “Keeping it Real in a Virtual World”, along with Deb Kohls of Friend Communications. Pelland Advertising participated in the 2008 Web Services Showcase, co-sponsored by Hidden-Tech and the Massachusetts Small Business Development Center. The event was held on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 from 5:00-8:00PM at the Andrew M. Scibelli Enterprise Center, 1 Federal Street, Springfield, Massachusetts. The event was designed to provide regional businesses with the advice and resources they need to grow their businesses through the Internet. Business leaders met the Valley’s leading providers of Web service resources, the people and companies that are building, maintaining, and hosting Web sites. They met the people who can help you start, improve, or expand your Web presence … including Pelland Advertising, which was represented at this event by our graphic design guru, Josh Pelland.

The number of links from established websites (including search engines and directories) helps to determine the search ranking of your own site. An extremely small investment of time on your part can immeasurably enhance your site’s search engine position.
