Spring Trade Shows

The NCA’s 2011 Northeast Conference: We are getting more and more excited about our upcoming participation in the NCA’s 2011 Conference and Trade Show from March 27-29, along with the event’s return to the popular old venue in Sturbridge, Massachusetts. Look for us in the first aisle of the Trade Show in booth # 16, and be sure to attend Peter Pelland’s Monday morning social media seminar, a variation of our latest seminar that will be tailored to the needs and interests of campground owners. The 2011 Maine Campground Owners Association Annual Meeting & Trade Show: We just added this event to our schedule, and we will be pleased to participate in this event for the first time in several years. It will take place at the Fireside Inn & Suites, in Portland, with the trade show running from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. We are looking forward to meeting with Maine campground owners, particularly those who might be unable to attend the NCA Conference earlier in the week.

Pelland Clients Earn Top Honors

Although Pelland Advertising chose not to participate in the 2010 National ARVC Conference, several of our clients were honored at the event. Most notably, there are 4 campgrounds that are awarded the “Park of the Year” distinction each year, in four categories based upon the size of the facilities. Dogwood Acres Campground, and owners Charlie & Lucille Strub, received this honor in the Small Park category, and Pine Acres Family Camping Resort, and owners Randy & Denise Packard, received this honor in the Large Park category. We are quite pleased that two of the four parks awarded this coveted distinction in 2010 are Pelland Advertising clients. In addition, 32 campgrounds were selected out of more than 4,000 parks that are participating in the GuestReviews program for earning A ratings or higher in consumer reviews, essentially the top 2% of campgrounds in the country. Honorees included Pelland Advertising clients Pine Acres Family Camping Resort (Oakham, MA), Buttonwood Campground (Mexico, PA), Dogwood Acres Campground (Newville, PA), Gettysburg Campground (Gettysburg, PA), and Kozy Rest Kampground (Harrisville, PA). We have always known that our clients are the best!

Fall Trade Shows

Pelland Advertising participated in the following conferences and trade shows in the fourth quarter of 2010. We would like to thank all of our clients and prospective clients who stopped by to visit.

The 2010 Twin State Conference & Trade Show: Co-sponsored by the New Hampshire Campground Owners’ Association and the Vermont Campground Association, this event was held at the Indian Head Resort, in Lincoln, New Hampshire on October 29th and 30th.


The 2010 CONY Conference & Trade Show: Sponsored by the Campground Owners of New York, this event was held at the Holiday Inn Syracuse/Liverpool Airport Hotel, in Liverpool, New York on November 5th and 6th.

The 2010 PCOA Conference & Trade Show: Sponsored by the Pennsylvania Campground Owners Association, this event was held at the Gettysburg Windham Hotel, in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania on December 6th and 7th. Peter Pelland presented a seminar, titled “Maximizing Your Online Exposure”, on December 7th, and led two roundtable marketing sessions on December 8th. Several Pelland Advertising clients were recognized at the annual Awards Luncheon. In addition to Charlie & Lucille Strub, owners of Dogwood Acres Campground, who were recognized for the “Small Park of the Year” award that they received at the previous week’s National ARVC Conference, the Pennsylvania parks that earned A ratings for 2010 in the Guest Reviews program were also acknowledged. Only 32 parks received this honor in 2010, based upon over 32,000 consumer reviews. Of these 32 parks, 7 are from Pennsylvania, an astounding 22% of the finest 2% of parks in America! Once again, of these 7 parks, 4 are Pelland Advertising clients: Buttonwood Campground, Dogwood Acres Campground, Gettysburg Campground, and Kozy Rest Kampground. Coincidence? Maybe, but we doubt it. Our congratulations to the winners!

Later in the Awards Luncheon, Communications Awards were given in 11 categories. The most important of these is probably the “Best Website” competition. Pelland Advertising clients, Gettysburg Campground and Western Village RV Park received 1st and 2nd place awards, respectively. Again, congratulations to our clients for their recognition!

The Virtual Outdoor Hospitality Expo: In addition to the events listed above, Pelland Advertising was a Gold Sponsor and exhibitor at the First Annual Virtual Outdoor Hospitality Expo, held online on November 1-3, 2010. Unattended booths remain accessible at http://outdoorhospitalityexpo.com/.

Pelland Advertising once again sponsored the Hilltown Spring Festival, held at the Cummington (Massachusetts) Fairgrounds on Saturday, May 15, 2010. This event was presented by the Hilltown Community Development Corporation. This year’s Spring Festival featured an emphasis on sustainability. The event ran from 10:00AM to 7:00PM, with artists and craftspeople, performers, good food, all day events, great weather, and the biggest crowd ever! We were happy to play a part in making the event a success.

Peter Pelland Presents
New Google Analytics Session

Peter Pelland presented a new one-night class covering the topic of Getting the Most from Google Analytics on Wednesday May 19, 2010. Designed to meet the needs and interests of small businesses in the Hilltowns of Western Massachusetts, the session was held at the offices of the Hilltown Community Development Corporation in Chesterfield, Massachusetts.

2010 Michigan Campground Owners Trade Show

Pelland Advertising was pleased to be a first-time participant in the Michigan Campground Owners Trade Show, held at the Bavarian Inn Lodge & Conference Center, in Frankenmuth, Michigan, on March 30-31, 2010. 2010 WACO Convention & Trade Show

On this same weekend of March 19-20, 2010, Pelland Advertising was a first-time participant in the WACO Convention & Trade Show, held at the Holiday Inn Hotel & Convention Center, in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. This event was sponsored by the Wisconsin Association of Campground Owners. Our sales associate, Marilyn DeWard, represented our company in the exhibit area.

Pelland Advertising Joins the
Wisconsin Association of Campground Owners,
Ohio Campground Owners Association, and Michigan ARVC

Pelland Advertising is pleased to announce that it has become a member of the Wisconsin Association of Campground Owners (WACO), Ohio Campground Owners Association (OCOA), and Michigan ARVC. As we seek to expand our presence in the Midwest, we are pleased to join these associations and look forward to becoming actively involved as business members. Wisconsin campgrounds might be interested to know that Pelland Advertising’s web servers have been located in Green Bay over the last 10 years, making us a “local” business in one respect. 2010 OCOA Spring Conference & Trade Show

Pelland Advertising was pleased to participate in the OCOA Spring Conference & Trade Show, held at the Columbus Airport Marriott, in Columbus, Ohio, on March 12-13, 2010. This event was sponsored by the Ohio Campground Owners Association. Marilyn DeWard and Peter Pelland enjoyed networking with Ohio campground owners at this event.

2009 CONY Conference & Trade Show

Pelland Advertising was pleased to participate in the 2009 CONY Conference & Trade Show, held at the Kaatskill Mountain Club & Hunter Mountain Ski Area, in Hunter, New York. 2009 Twin States Conference

Pelland Advertising was pleased to participate in the 2009 Twin States Conference, held at the Stoweflake Mountain Resort & Spa, in Stowe, Vermont. Peter Pelland and Josh Pelland met with Vermont and New Hampshire campground owners at the event’s trade show on Friday night and Saturday morning. In addition, Peter Pelland presented a new seminar, “Define Your Park’s Important Role in the Regional Business Community … and Work it to Your Advantage” on Saturday morning. The seminar is now available online as a Pelland Virtual Seminar. This event was co-sponsored by the Vermont Campground Association and the New Hampshire Campground Owners Association.
