Early Winter Newsletter
|
|
It has been over 6 months since
our last newsletter, so it
appears that a New Year’s
resolution may be in order,
committing to greater frequency
in sending these out. Of course,
we have been busy, and working
on behalf of our clients will
always come first. We were
pleased to meet with many old
and new clients at recent trade
events in North Carolina,
Arizona, and Pennsylvania, in
some instances having the
opportunity to
meet clients face-to-face for
the first time. If you attended
one of those events but did not
get a chance to speak with us,
please get in touch!
Whether you have
been one of our clients for 25
years or longer, or if you are
yet to work with Pelland
Advertising, we hope that the
content in this newsletter will
be useful, timely in nature, and
helpful in the day to day
operation of your business.

10 Steps for Securing Your Digital Identity
|
|
If you attended Peter Pelland’s
seminar that was presented at
the recent National ARVC Outdoor
Hospitality Conference & Expo in
Raleigh, North Carolina, you
probably had an eye-opening
experience. The vast majority of
attendees rated the session as
either “Exceptional” or
“Excellent”, and typical review
comments included “Excellent. A
must attend for everyone.” and
“Excellent session ... but
scary. Good info!” The recent
Equifax security breach served
as a launch pad for the
exploration of a wide range of
vulnerabilities that included
computer networks, websites,
social media and online browsing
habits, software, banking and
e-commerce, passwords, and more.
The seminar presented advice on
how to keep passwords secure,
keep software updated, avoid
compromising email, be careful
browsing, use social media
cautiously, test your
vulnerability, avoid public
Wi-Fi, maintain high security
standards on your own website,
properly dispose of computer
hardware, and always remain open
to the latest security tips.
Click here if you would like to
download a copy of the handout
from the seminar, and
if you would like to download a
PDF version of the actual
PowerPoint presentation. If your
organization is interested in
having Peter present this or a
similar seminar at an upcoming
meeting, please contact us to
discuss availability and to make
arrangements. Peter and this
seminar have been approved to
qualify for continuing education
units by the ARVC Outdoor
Hospitality Education Program.

A Few of Our Newest
Responsive Websites
|
|
We have
launched so many
new websites since our last
newsletter, many of which were
projects for new clients who
came to us after growing
dissatisfied with their previous
Internet services providers,
while others were new sites for
long-time clients. As you can
see, our sites include many of
the leading family campgrounds
from throughout the United
States, but we also have many
small business clients from
other industries. Each
site represents a
custom-crafted, mobile-friendly,
responsive site that was built
with the unique challenges of
each client in mind. Our
e-commerce sites are built using
the Magento platform and are
hosted on a dedicated server
that is optimized for that
platform.
If you feel that
your website is being neglected
by another company, this is the
perfect time to turn to Pelland
Advertising for a refreshing
change in attitude! Click on any
image to visit that client’s new
website, or
click here to visit the website
portfolio page on the Pelland
Advertising website.

We Didn’t Know You Did
That!
|
|
Everybody knows that we build
responsive websites and produce
brochures, rack cards, and
similar four-color collateral
advertising, and most people are
starting to think about us for
map production services, but few
people realize that we also
produce an even wider range of
printed materials, including
large formats and materials
other than paper. The following
list represents a few of the
items that we frequently produce
... and typically at some
extremely competitive prices.
Let us quote on your next
out-of-the-ordinary project!
Labels • Letterhead • Envelopes
• NCR Forms • Magnets • Banners
Mirror Hangers • Greeting Cards
• Mini Menus • Presentation
Folders
We also provide assistance with
mailing services for many of our
clients. Did you realize how
much money you can save by
outsourcing your mailings?
Postage rates are lower with
pre-sorting, and you can save
hundreds of dollars when your
mailing list is processed to
remove duplicates and then run
through the national change of
address registry. No more
wasting postage and printing
costs as the result of mailing literature to
people who have moved or who are
deceased. Contact us for more
information.

Are Your Facebook
Graphics Up to Professional
Standards?
|
|
Facebook has become an increasingly less effective means of promoting business in recent years, unless you are willing to make an investment in promoting your posts. Nonetheless, your business needs to have an official presence on Facebook, and we can help to make that presence appear as professional as possible ... at a very affordable cost. For a flat fee of only $300.00 – reduced to only $200.00 if you are one of our existing clients – we will produce a carefully designed and properly sized Cover Image and Profile Photo combination. If we are admins of your Page, we will even upload and install the graphics at no additional charge.
Facebook has frequently modified
the size and configuration of
the graphics that appear on
business pages. If you are one
of our clients and we produced
your Facebook Cover Image two or
three years ago, when the size
was slightly different and the
Profile Photo used to overlap
the Cover Image, we might even
be able to update your graphics
at no charge!
Here are examples of Cover Images that we have recently designed for clients. The smaller Profile Photos are square and typically present a variation of your business’s logo. If your business is using a blurry photo as its Cover Image, it is time to take things to the next level. If you have a Cover Image that we designed several years ago, contact us to have us upgrade the image to Facebook’s new size and specifications.
